Anyone can Swiss

Anyone Can Swiss is the most brilliantly simple commentary of International style, Swiss type i've ever seen. While i have great respect and appreciation for Swiss type, grids and some of the legendary designers who were part of this movement, I feel that recently its become sort of a default design solution...kind of like when you're art direction ideas fail, go swiss kinda thing.  I'm glad someone is poking fun at it. Cake Wrecks

In honor of the superbowl and the Pittsburgh Steelers this cake is referencing the "Terrible Towel, a fan favorite that is commonly seen in the stands at Steeler home games. This cake is apparently unaware of its own irony. 

There is a blog about everything...including messed up and inappropriate cakes. A blogspot neighbor, Cake Wrecks is the best thing i've seen all week. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll just shake your head and ask why? (hey did you like how i did that? it like rhymes and stuff)

Because Talent isn't always enough...

An important lesson for any athlete and moreover any creative person to learn...its not always your skills and talent that determine your success. In honor of the SuperBowl, Sports Illustrated published a list of the The Best QBs to Never Win a Super Bowl. One of my all time favorites, Dan Marino is unfortunately at the top of the list. 

Do 'nice' guys and their logos finnish last in the NFL?

An interesting article on Sports Illustrated about teams ditching their nice looking logos and making them meaner and more intimidating has translated into success with relatively quick results. So i guess this means maybe the Raiders are in for an update?

There hasn't been much coverage today in the media or on the internet, but in case  you may have missed it, i feel obligated to inform you that as of 12:00pm, America has a new President...#44 to be exact.
